England's Sub side thrashed Pakistan!

England’s fans had a lot of doubts going into this game as there were a lot of newcomers and then Pakistan had an experienced squad, so the scales were tipped in the favor of Pakistan, but the way this England team performed was amazing, they’ve forced the Pakistan Team to think about the way they play and how they will go about their cricket from now on.

Pakistan crumbled for 141 with only Fakhar Zamam being able to get a decent score of 47 while the rest of the team could barely contribute. Saqib Mahmood of England was able to get 2 wickets in the first over of the match as he dismissed the Pakistani captain Babar Azam and Imam Ul Haq, this caused early problems for the visitor as they failed to get any momentum and the result was a below par score on the board.

England bowlers were brilliant in the field, Saqib taking 4 wickets along with Craig Overton and Matt Parkinson taking 2 each, the fielding however was a little sloppy as 3-4 catches were dropped. This bowling performance was a proof of quality of the bench strength of England as they’ve established a very good network of domestic cricket with the County Championship and Vitality Blast.

It was an easy chase for England in the end as Dawid Malan(68) and Zak Crawley(58) steered their team to the finish line. Zak Crawley showed that he is also good option for the ODI formats as he was batting well. The covid outbreak was the reason so many players got this opportunity to play but Ben Stokes was pretty vocal in the press conference that all these lads deserve to be here, which is actually true. This is just good management by the ECB and the amount of depth in the team shows how well ECB executes its plans.
The next ODI is at Lords on 10th and it is going to be vital for Pakistan to make a comeback if they want to save any face after the way they lost in the first one. This will also going to be the first ODI England plays after the CWC19 Final, so this is definitely going to bring back some memories, especially for the captain Ben Stokes.
